Mission Statement
To provide clients with professional massage in a friendly, nurturing
manner that enhances and improves their well-being.

A little about me.
I have been asked why I became a massage therapist. I chuckle and remember very clearly 'that moment' when I just knew I'd found what I wanted to do next in my life.

I was visiting family in Phoenix after my father passed away. We were all upset, tense, stressed out, and more. While I was at my brother's home, my mother-in-law and sister went and got massages. When we all caught up with each other later that afternoon the difference in their demeanor was dramatic. They almost looked like different people. They were so calm and relaxed and the skin on their faces was no longer tight and drawn! I looked at them and said, "I want to do that for people."

I came home, to North Carolina, and was enrolled in a Massage Therapy school within months ~still never having experienced a massage myself. It was truly the beginning of a completely new chapter in my life. Now, over a dozen years later, I still love seeing my clients leave looking more calm, relaxed, and happy than when they arrived ~and if they came in with pain they usually leave with a curious look of wonderment as to how the pain went away.

On a personal, casual note, my husband and I have a love for dogs ~and rescuing them from shelters. At one point we had four dogs. They have all passed away and gone over that Rainbow Bridge where there are only happy and playful times. Recently, my mother, who lives with us, has gotten a Great Pyrenees puppy. He is now nine months old and around 80 lbs. That's pretty big! Mom and I have been taking him to puppy training classes. They're going well and we're learning a lot together. The intelligence and sensitivity of this breed are surprising -until you've experienced it, it's hard to explain. When you know, you know! ;-)

I also love to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers from seed in the house, and then plant them outside in my garden. After they're planted in the ground I mostly lose interest in them. I don't care much about watering, weeding, pest control, or even picking the incredibly great-tasting veggies and fruit (tomatoes) when they ripen. However, I love that I can eat fresh food from the garden. Shaking my head, it seems silly to me, but it's the way I am.

In my younger days, I had two other major career paths: restaurant work, from a cashier to the manager, and emergency dispatch, from small-town police and fire to county sheriff/EMS, then to the Highway Patrol.

None of my career paths initially seemed to have much in common. However, if you look closer at each field -food, law enforcement, and massage therapy- there is a common thread.

In the past, I helped people get their basic needs met: food and safety. Now I help people get their body, mind, and spirit realigned by guiding them to allow their body to pause, regroup, and emerge with an improved state of mind/health, and spirituality.

I now help people get their body/mind/spirit realigned. It's an incredibly rewarding process I'm privileged to be part of.
